Ls6 heads on Ls1 with TREX cam
Ls6 heads on Ls1 with TREX cam Im looking at either running the TREX or MS4 cam.
Here is my question i know they are both really close as far as PTV clearance goes and the TREX actually almost pushes it TOO close. If i put some LS6 heads that havent been milled will my PTV clearance be even a greater problem. What im asking is are the LS6 heads valves longer, casting shorter or anything that could make the PTV clearance worse?? I know the Combustion chamber is a tad bit smaller but that should only factor in comp ratio. Any help is appreciated

Nope. You'll be fine. I'm running "off the shelf" z06 heads with my trex cam. I'm also using the fast 90 and a nw 90 tb. I putting down 480 through a 6 speed and a 4.57 spooled 9" with full exhaust. It's a fun ride. No fly cutting needed.
You can run a Trex cam on stock valved LS6 heads. TSP has a good set of PRC CNC LS6 heads that will work with the Trex cam. However, you'll be leaving a lot of power on the table by not flycutting the pistons and not milling the heads to get your compression in check. You would be better off getting a small cam and milling the heads or cutting valve reliefs in the pistons to allow for better compression.
