Intake Part Number Questions!
Intake Part Number Questions! I have a '02 T/A and I found a part number on the intake that doesn't match anything in the FAQ's. Is there anyway to find out if this is a LS1 or LS6 intake? The part number is 12573572. Can someone help me figure out which I have?

Re: Intake Part Number Questions! That is the correct number that is cast into the LS6 intake. FYI, all 2001 thru 03 LS1's have the LS6 intake.
We always refer to numbers that are cast or molded into the part as an "ID" or casting number. More often than not this number has nothing to do with the actual part number for ordering a part. You could actually go to a GM dealer and order a "casting number" that you found off your part thinking you were going to get what you needed, and you just might receive a fender for a Buick because that "casting number" just happened to be a good "part number" in the GM system! So always be careful when looking at casting numbers and trying to order that part.

Re: Intake Part Number Questions! Not sure how it relates to a particular part#, but some 01 intakes have a TSB for a whistle sound due to a cavitation of air coming in. Not supposed to be a performance problem, but GM will replace for the whistle sound under warranty for 2001 model year with an updated intake version.
