I have had a huge problem with this engine. I have hellfire rings filled to 22 in it and have to use alot of force to get the piston into the cylinder with them. So I bought some OEM rings and they do the same. But when I try the old factory rings the piston slides in like butter.

Check it with new top and 2nd rings and original oil rings. The oil ring is the "biggie" in terms of which one has the most drag. Also, do a break away test on the crank snout. that's how much you have to run the torque wrench setting before the engine starts to turn over. You'll find it very repeatable. For a street engine, you'll be somewhere between 11 and 13 lbs hopefully with all 8 cylinders assembled. -Brian Nutter-Wiseco piston
