Default When are double springs needed

Obviously when the cam lift is extrememly high. But when else do you need to be considering the double spring? And do you get a HP gain from the double spring?

Its a good safety precaution if you have that option with your heads. You never know how big a cam you are going to end up running, and a lot of people seem to be breaking springs.

My only question is what kind of setup are you considering running? I only know one set of heads that offers double springs, and you might consider do a search and reading up on those heads before you buy anything.

I would want dual springs for peace of mind.

TEA offers dual springs standard on all of their LS1 heads.

MTI offers dual springs standard on their stage 2, I don't know about the stage 1's.

GTP has the option of dual springs on their stage 2's.

I got the dual springs on my stage 1 heads from TEA. Like mentioned above, when I asked he said that is what they do.

I just prefer to see a double spring on my heads.
