Default Slp Package

I'm considering buying the 445 hp package from SLP. Does anyone out there have any experience with this package? Please let me know about your experience and the power you achieved.

I purchased the slp package, had SLP install it along with thier long tube headers and cold air induction on my 2002 SS 345HP package, auto ,had it dynoed and it made 355 HP at the rear wheels, I would look somewhere else like MTI if I could do it over

Default Re: Slp Package

I talked with SLP about their heads and cam package a few months ago. They stated they were seeing 370-380ish numbers at the rear wheels. For once it looked like SLP didn't over state their agains! SLP uses single springs and generally sticks to porting the LS1 head.

The 5.3 truck heads, 6.0 heads and LS6 heads are worth reading up on.

I would look at a few other packages too.

TEA did a package for verbs that pulled 437 at the rear wheels. Much better than SLP's 445 at the flywheel. Cost less than SLP's and have dual springs!

GTP heads w/Thunder Racing cams also pull excellent 430-440rwhp numbers. Cost a little more but GTP is known as one of the very top head porters...maybe the best.

MTI heads and cam. While pricey MTI products are very consistant and appear trouble free compared some unnamed vendors. 430-440ish rwhp pretty common with MTI set up's and all the bolt on's and tuning.

I'd read up as much as you can there are just a starting point.

Also JPR has some H&C set ups that do very well and are very streetable.

Good Luck
