i am trying to decide what cam shaft to use... what i have purchased so far are stage 2 heads (flow 287 int 200exh Stock valve size) holly intake, ported throttle body ,and maf sensor. on the exhaust side slp long tube headders borla exhaust. running 4:10 gears in the rear. (note the heads and intake are not installed yet) i am purchasing ls1 edit to do the neccarry computer mods. also i know that i need to replace push rods and valve springs. this car is NOT a daily driver and i would like some sort of cam with a lumpy idle
. most of all i really want to make power..... thanks for any help...... jason

I would almost go with a slight conventional split with those heads,But I may be wrong the reason I say that is your exhaust port doesnt flow very well.
69% of the intake. A straight durration cam may work well also but it is hard to say.But I would stay away from reverse splits if I was you.
Cant go wrong with a c-1,c-2,Thunder 224 or a small split
222/224 on exhaust.
Or maybe back around Thunder medium rev split cam
224 intake and 227 exhaust.Just a thought
Just my Opinion.

Pig cam is nice one also, some of the others may tell you to use something else.
Larger intake durration will make more power lower lsa will peak a little quicker but has been known to not have as broad of a power band.
I would use cam on a 112
maybe 227 intake 230 exhaust You will be fine with stock valves.Straight durration may work well also. Was your exhaust flowed with a pipe or open? that may also be why your numbers are lower than some of the others.
Flowing with a pipe will show better numbers. If it was flowed with a pipe with those numbers use an ARE Type cam.Good luck and most of all have fun <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I have had 3 cams in my car,228/228 .588 lift on a 112,Radical lope, idles at 1000 driveability was not so great numbers were ok.
Then I tried another set of heads and a 222/222 with .566 lift on a 112 Better idle around the same performance.maybe a little bit less power but heads were matched to this cam a little better.
My current cam is great performer for its size.216/224 .52x/53x lift on a 114 Idles
Like stock and seems to run pretty much as well as the others maybe a tenth off pace.next one I am trying is going to be a revese split. But I have to say this cam in the car now has really surprised me with its performance. You can hardly hear it (ok maybe just a little
Drives very near to being stock 650 idle etc.Very nice for a daily driver.I think the 222 could be close to this but I never had edit at the time and tuning with superchips was a major PITA.
But maybe I am getting a little older <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I like the not so radical idle and running bottom 7's at the track <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
