Oil Pressure/Pump Question (high volume)

Default Oil Pressure/Pump Question (high volume)

I just did a head/cam/intake swap. The car just came home yesterday. Before with the stock pump the oil pressure would be at about 35-40psi at idle and around 50-60 crusing. I bought a thunder racing ported/blueprinted/high volume pump. There isnt any drops in oil pressure at all but I'm just curious why my oil pressure is low at idle. Its at about 25psi idling and around 35-40 cruising. I have not opend the car up much at all since its untuned. I heard high volume pumps will lower pressure. Do I have anything to worry about? Is it things settling down in the motor since its been apart? Assembly lube?

Could be a pinched o-ring or just the fact that it's high volume. I have the same thing with my ported LS6. I get about 22-25ish at hot idle, but that's nothing to worry about. You only need 10 psi per every 1k rpm.

sounds a little low for 1 ofthere pumps. most h/v pumps i use have 40psi+ at idle hot.
