Question Question about the stock ls1 timing chain

I'm in the process of replacing my 98 ls1 cam. The engine has 60k miles on it. When I checked the play in the timing chain it was 1/4 inch. I measured this with a ruler by first moving the chain to the left as far as it would go and then to the right as far as it would go. (Measuring one side of the chain from left to right. The haynes manual states replace if 5/8 play or more. I've installed the ASA cam and new springs. I didn't plan to change the timing chain and don't want to unless its necessary. Any help would be appreciated!

does the ls2 timing set fit without having to change or space out anything?
