Crane 1.8 Rockers and springs?
I've been kicking the idea of replacing my stock rockers and springs with the 1.8 rocker kit from Crane. This will replace the rocker arms, pushrods, and all other required pieces. I figured while I'm at it, I might as well replace the stock springs with the Crane springs + titanium retainer kit. Is this worth the money? Also, with the 1.8's and springs am I likely to see a power gain from all of this. The engine is completely stock (all internals), and only modifications to the car are headers, exhaust and lid. I do not plan on installing an aftermarket cam or any other engine work besides possibly porting the stock heads, or upgrading to GTP heads.

Its an A4, and I really don't want to pay for custom tuning to get it to run right! Plus, I don't find cam'd cars attractive for daily driving. Trying to remain somewhat conservative on the modding, and keeping my fuel economy (which recently has gone down the *******.. not getting more than 15-16mpg.. could be the stall.. could be running rich.. could be the heat!!).
Not worth it.Get a cam grind to your specs. For that kind of cheddar it would be better to buy something else like nitrous or a set of heads or anything besides those. You can find good heads nowadays for 999.99 or less you just have to ask around here <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> .As far as your gas mileage you are correct cam/stall equals no gas but there are plenty of cams out there that will idle like stock only double the output of one.
