got bored...decided to change cams
I've got a 242/242//114 and no AC since I bought the car in early 2000, and I have put 16,000 miles on it.
As soon as I get some passes on the current setup, I am going for more compression and more cam... <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

<strong>XtraCajunSS - How tuff is it to maintain a solid roller motor? <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> Your car is giving me bad thoughts(at least for my bank account) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

It took less than 45 minutes from the time I started removing the valvecovers to the time I fired it back up. Keep in mind, I don't have to move coil packs out of the way or any emissions fittings to screw with. I just started at #1 and developed a little pattern to keep from skipping a rocker. A box end wrench, feeler gauge, and allen wrench are all the tools that are necessary.
Piece of Cake...
You should feel this thing pull 5th and 6th gear... over 500 rwhp from 5500 to 7000... <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

My setup is sick.

Well, since my motor will be going in a truck I don't see the coil packs being much of a problem <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> and since I'm going with the LS6 valley cover my welded valve covers will be free and clear. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

<strong>Shane: Are you running 13:1 on pump gas? Can you run more compression with a solid roller than a hydraulic roller on the same grade of gas?</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I actually run a 50/50 mix of 104 and 93. I probably could get away with less but I like to "drive" the car... I don't baby it.
