do i need a new motor? my camaro has 114,000 miles and it runs really good for being stock, i can outrun my friends 02 ws6 and alot of other cars, im not bragging im actually kinda scared, my friends dad is a mechanic and he said once camaros start running really good they're about to breakdown because idk but this guy always messes with me but he said he wasnt being a dick or anything he jsut told me to start saving up incase. how long do these motors last? ive been taking really good care of it since i got it and use the right oil and everything. thanks guys
Thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard. Its people on here who run 150 shots on 150k mile shortblocks.

That is the dumbest statement I ever heard. The block will last very long provided the oil is changed often enough and you arent spraying too muhc nitrous. Even a lot of nitrous engines have 150K on them. A main issue is the rod bolts stretching which will lead to a spun bearing or a thrown rod.

yeah he always says stuff like that he was probably just messing with me, but hes a really good mechanic and knows how to scare me haha. im just bein gulable i guess, thanks anyway
Uh oh, mines running really well too.....****! 
J/K man, yeah thats one of the stupidest things ive ever heard. These motors will last forever, provided they are maintained well.
