Using a Resleeved LS1 Block bored to 4.185" and using a crank with a 4.125" Stroke, you can get 454 CID for street performance. Now will the crank and rods have clearance inside the block? How much HP can this type of block can handle? I remember someone making a 427cid with a 4.125" crank, but with smaller bore. Any opinions?
4.185" sleeved block is like paper-thin. Mine is 4.155" and is borderline acceptable.
I'd go with 4.125" bore and 4.25" stroke, and yes those will fit with a tiny bit of clearance.
