Default Spinning motor to 7K for 35 minutes

For anyone that knows I have been posting alot about running my car in Open Road Racing events. My cam and heads for my 99SS will be here today. MTI said they have the rev limiter set to 7K. Well I plan on running the motor at about 6200 to 6500 for about 35 minutes over the course of the race. I just need to know if the stock bottom will be able to hold together for 1 race in that kind of an environment. Right now the motor has 40K on the odometer. What do you guys think?

Spend the extra $220 and buy the Katech oil pump and Katech timing chain. Not really a request, it's a must.

Actually,
I was thinking about this today a little harder...

This is my new recommendation:

1. ARP rod bolts
2. GM timing chain dampener
3. Re-Bearing with Fed. Mogulor Clevite HD bearings
4. Maybe even the SLP double roller chain?

We could get all this done in two days once all the parts are assembled. Maybe next weekend? I think you would be much safer with a little beefing up of the bottom end...

Run an extra 1.5 quarts of oil and setup a catch can OR run breathers only on the car and disable the PCV and fresh air line to the throttle body all together. You will suck a TON of oil in through the intake like that with the stock PCV setup.
Cheers,
Chris

I ordered my MTI ported pump yesterday. the drysump (dont know how this will effect PCV system)will be on right after the cage next month. I will order the timing chain from Katech today. I am also getting the Jesel SS rockers. I'll put the bearings on the "to Order list".
