Default Water in engine

I drove through some deep water last night in the street and I was going slow. The water got in the engine, past the air filter and it kept dying. I had to start it up a few times and I finally got parked in the parkng lot. I went back the next day and it started, but it would try to keep dying and I pushed the gas and it would keep running, but it would sound really bad, and it kept trying to die. I left it in the parking lot. I'm not sure what to do next. What should I do? Has anyone else had this problem or know what I should do?

Thanks.

If you havent caused internal engine damage (hydro lock, bent connecting rods and such) then you surely have messed up the mass air flow sensor. Let it dry out for a day or so (the car) and then see if it runs. If it doesnt replace the MAF and then try again.
