This sound like a broken valve spring?
when mine went the car went to hell. I knew it right off the get go, cause it felt like i was runnning off of 6cyl!
all i could do was idle home(luckly only 1min from the break!)
i hooked up to atap and i was reading like 100misfires on cyl 4 under current history. I thought maybe plug or wire was bad. Switched those.. still reading misfires.. My idle was iffy cause i couldnt really tell with the cam. But something sounded weird at idle in the exhaust. I heard NO CHATTER!!! so i didnt think I had a broken 918. Anyway i pulled the valve cover on the pass side with the misfires. Checked #4.. hmmm looks fine... tried to twist the intake spring.. still tight! Then i tried the exhaust side and OMG it was just barely there! It had broken on the back side so i couldnt tell at a glance.
btw, when trying to start the car had a PITA! Its like it would only fire on 6cylinders. Well really it was only firing on 7.
Pull the covers! I beting one snapped... ill keep my fingers crossed for ya!
but if you have 918's this sucks cause mine broke at 200 miles, and now im getting close to 1k <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
