I also have a set of Dart 205's and I was also looking at .040 Cometic Head Gaskets #202-403.

I have 5.3 heads that are ported with 2.05 & 1.6 valves. I used the .042 head gaskets and after approximately 3000 miles I developed coolant leaks from the rear of both heads. After doing some research, it's my under standing that with an aluminum block it is harder to maintain a truly level surface. A larger gasket (stock 0.058) will help make up for some of the imperfections.

Good luck,

Al

That is one reason I have not ordered the head gaskets yet. I have heard of too many leaks with the thiner gaskets.
