Dirty Valve
Well during my checkout of this junkyard engine I found the Passanger side compression to be real bad, like down to 50 psi in one cylinder, max 125 on one, yet on the drivers side they were all like 120 to 185. Well Pulling the manafold revelied a bunch of debris like dead ladybugs, dirt, leaves etc. Some had gotten by the gaskets on the intake and got behind the intake valves. Below is a pic.

This thing must have been outside uncovered for a while.
I took the head off and the cylinders look ok. Lots of carbon but no valve marks or scuffs on the sleeves. Since I've got to do the valves I think I should replace the springs and seals. With all the talk about breaking 918's I guess it's best to go isky (unless someone says otherwise) so I can upgrade my stock cam. I'll go 224 or 230 and upgrade the heads later when I get some cash. I guess hardened pushrods would be needed for this. Any suggestions?
