Valvetrain noise with TR224?
Valvetrain noise with TR224? My friend had a TR224 .561/.561 224/224 112 LSA installed months ago and he's got some serious valvetrain noise. He had 918's and titanium retainers installed at the same time, car runs great and dyno'd 350/355 M6.
Anyways does anyone else with a similar setup have this? Why is it making this noise I mean it's loud sounds like lifters tacking I think I am not sure exactly, just tack tack tack and it gets faster with RPM
also need to mention he had hardend pushrods installed with this cam and to best of my knowledge he hasn't missed a shift
but what got him to install a cam was he missed a shift at 90mph and bent the hell out of his stock pushrods.
If anyone has any insights lemme know, mainly for me because my friend doesn't seem to mind it but when I get my cam TR 224/227 .563/.569 114 LSA If my valvetrain makes that much noise I might go postal. <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" />

Re: Valvetrain noise with TR224? IMO its to be expected. With a high lift cam you have to expect it. Assuming the installation is all good. I put in the C1 cam with MTI stage II heads and it sounds like a sewing machine. Sounds like HP to me! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
