Default need help!

well i was leaving work yesterday and when i turned on my car it sounded like it had spun a bearing, now its happened to me once before so that was definately the sound. well it just did it for like two seconds and i looked at my oil pressure gauge and it was around 55 psi, which i belive is normal. well i had to drive my car 91 miles today which was just grueling and i didnt notice any noise or anything, i then checked the oil and there was a tiny bit of metal shavings on the drain plug and my oil was dark but its only been 1600 miles since my last oil change. the motor only has around 8,000 miles on it but i also havent switched over to synthetic yet either. Should i just drive the car? or should i check my bearings? i had no choice but to drive it today because i couldnt afford towing but if it would have been a problem there would have been more shavings in the oil than just a tiny amount right?
