Help...think I blew motor
Well I blew a shift the other nite...from 4th to 3rd at redline on the bottle. Replaced a few pushrods and it's still running very rough. Managed to make it the 20 miles home. Car isn't smoking when it runs. I plan to do a compression test to see about the valves which I suspect are bad. Is it possible to tell if the pistons/rods are bad without tearing the whole bottom end apart? I'll be able to see if the piston face has any marks when I tear the heads off but other then that I'm not real certain about anything down there. Thanks for any help.

You could probably pull the oilpan and check the rods, if you screwed it up bad enough you'd be able to tell from the bottom.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Help...think I blew motor
Yes sad to say but low 12's is the best I could get even on the 100 shot. My last run woulda been 11.9's if I didn't miss shift and coast accross the line. Oh well...whatever is broke will get fixed with bigger and better stuff..even if it isn't till spring. Hoping it's just valves though.
