Throttle cable adjustment. I recently did a heads/cam swap on my 2004 pontiac gto a4. After buttoning everything up we went to hook up the cable to the cam(throttle). Right away we noticed it did not sit on the bump. It is about 1/4 inch above the bump. Next I adjusted the adjuster to give more slack. This gives enough room to rest on the stop but then the throttle only opens halfway it does not go all the way. Has anyone ran into this before? We did not touch this at all during the install...why the problems!??? Thanks

Came across the same problem on my camaro after a cam swap. It was shifting real short, like @ 4,000 rpms. My Dad noticed that the throttle cable had slipped. All that we did was have someone hold the throttle down to the floor with the mat out of the way and have someone else adjust the cable at the adjusters. Don't know why it slipped; but to be sure that it did'nt happen again, I put some small zip ties on it to hold it tight.

I am having the same problem with my throttle not sitting on the bump. You have to manually put it on the bump in order for it idle right. It seems the cruise control unit off to the side will not fully rotate back after pressing on the gas pedal.
