Default Expected Gains with TR224 cam

Hey everybody, I've been thinking about getting the TR224 .561 114LSA cam for my '01 Z28 M6. Currents mods include Lid, LS6 intake (of course), SLP Ram Air, SLP 85mm MAF, off road ypipe, and a cutout. No, I do not have headers. What kind of gains would I see from this cam? I already understand that it wont reach its full potential until I have some sort of mid-length or long tube headers, so please dont say "get headers first". Thanks

Prototypical Thunder Racing 224 gains from where you are right now with your year and current mods is in the neighborhood of 362-373 RWH. You should go to the dyno shop and have it tested on the 02 Wide Band to make sure your burning the correct AF mixture. I would also stress to you to bring your stock MAF de-screened and test between the SLP 85mm and see which one makes the best overall power, not just peak. A MAFT would be in line also to achieve your best results. If your going to install headers later on, I would suggest either Mac headers or FLP Long tubes or better yet, if your able to get your hands on a set of Grott's.

Good Luck!
Joe.

I don't know if you saw my post, but i just finished my 224/224 114 cam swap and had custom programming done.
You WILL need programming to get the full potential out of the cam. No doubt.
Don't be discouraged if your numbers arn't where you think they are with the cam. I went from 344 to 398..54RWHP with the cam and programming.
I know a guy who swapped a similar spec cam in his WS6 and only picked up 20 rwhp... Once he did long tubes, he gain 25 more RWHP.
The 29 was not just the LT's but the combo with the cam, so basically, if you had LT's, or whenever you do them, 40+ rwhp is easily attainable.
I LOVE the 224/224 TR cam. It pulls like a bat out of hell to 6600 rpm's.
Let us know how it turns out....
