Default Taking an LS6 block to a 4.030 too big???

Is boring a Ls6 block to a 4.030 bore gonna be risky?? Just curious if it will make the walls too thin

Sure is. You won't have any cylinder bore left. LS6 is like the LS1, 3.898 bore stock. Max you would want to go is .010" over.

You could .030" bore a 6.0 L truck block giving you a size of 4.030". But if you go with an iron block you'd add weight and need to locate the alternator up top with a alt relocation bracket.

92lbs extra and no, no need to relocate braket. You could drill for third alternator bolt but not necessary it will hold fine with 2.

I've never been a fan of recommending that someone drill into the block for that third hole. I kind of like having the alt up top away from the elements.

I have a LS2 aluminum block bored .030" over (4.030") 418cid. with a 250 shot nitrous, car runs perfect and had for a while now.
