Head studs Q.. Moly Lube on block side?
The headbolt holes just go into the block and don't tap into the water jackets, right? I know coolant can fall in when doing head work and you have to blow it out.
But like, if you are using head studs, Moly lube into the headbolt hole is enough. It doesn't need to be some type of waterproof sealant, right?
Just thinking about what someone else said once.
Thx!

Right they don't tap in to water jackets or oil galleys. Make sure you clean the head bolt holes real well. You don't want coolant or thread lock in there when you install new bolts or studs. For me compressed air didn't get it all. I had to go in there with paper towel wrapped around pushrod to get it all out and then thread the hole with the old bolt about two times.
I've never heard of putting moly lube in there - I'v not done studs yet. I would be concerned that the stud could back out.
