I dont have A4 but this is about my cam specs and this thing runs good IMO, see my Sig.No gears, no headers or off road y-pipe and stock tuning other than Hpp3. 3550 lbs.

Here is some info on the C1-Hammer cam.
222/222 .566/.566. I hope it help you make a decision.

Hammer Cam, User Comments:

If you want one.. here is some info.

The lobes are standard order. You can get it from most any speed shop.
Part number 54-000-11
Grind number LS13714R/3714R HR12
Serial # R 4360
I bought mine from MTI
281 870 8787

Cam specs: Comp Cam/ MTI Hammer cam
Duration at .050 intake/exhaust- 222/222
maximum lift with 1.7 rockers- .566/.566
lobe separation- 112

Manufacturer- Comp Cams
Vendor- MTI

Your car type (auto/manual)- A4 with a big stall
displacement- 346
headwork? (yes/no)- yes, MTI stage 2
headers? (yes/no LT/med/shorty)- FLP long tubes
na/force-fed/bottle-fed- N/A
computer reprogrammed? (yes/no) Some MTI tuning to get rid of EGR/Air pump SES lights.... they also raised my shift points and rev limiter.
throttle plate drilled? (size) Yes, 13/64"

Goals= Drag/ Street

Is it too aggressive/not aggressive enough/just right? It's about right for me... not too big.

Lope- Lumpy, but not annoyingly so.

Additional comments: This cam combined with my heads propelled me to 10.86 all motor.
10's with a daily driven street car?
With a "little" 222/222 cam? SWEET! I still can't believe it.

It makes good use of fast ramps yet still keeps the duration and l/s down in a usable "street racers" (IMO) range. 4 degrees of advance are ground in.
This cam took me to the 10.8's and yet is VERY small compared to some of the others you will see listed on this website.

I shift around 6400 R.P.M's.

Here are some other Hammer cam comments:
Nine ball says:

MTI Stage 2 heads
222/222 .566/.566 112 "Hammer" cam
FLP long tubes
LS6 intake
Custom PCM
Borla Catback
MTI air box lid
ASP crank pulley

= 410-420 rwhp on an M6 car on average, without any driveline "dyno tricks" (aluminum flywheel, carbon fiber drive shaft, lighter rims, less rear gearing, etc..) Some guys see 430+ rwhp with the same setup I have outlined here.

That setup also comes with a 1-year, 12K mile warranty when installed at MTI. Feel free to beat on it, just don't use nitrous or turbos/superchargers on it or the warranty is void.

Note, For M6's: If you intend on drag racing the setup, go with 4.10 gears. I'd rather recommend a 12-bolt rear end though. I broke 4 stock rear end setups before finally getting a 12-bolt that could handle the abuse. Get 3.73s if this will be primarily a street action car. The 4.10s tend to spin too easily off the line on the street. 3.73s are much easier to control in low traction conditions.

Get the 6800 rpm limiter, you will be shifting around 6600 rpm and do not want to hit the irritating limiter.

1MaddSS says:

I just finished installing MTI S2s and Hammer cam on my SS a couple of hours ago. The heads themselves are a work of art. I doubt that you would be disappointed. It fired right up with an 800 rpm idle without a hitch. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cam does not have a ton of lope at idle. Very nice. After a little break in it will be time to let her rip!

I have it set at 6500 from running over the winter. I'm going to up it to 6600 with my HPP until I can get the programming done, hopefully in the next couple of weeks. I'm sure I'm going to need the extra 200 rpm as I'm hoping for ~123mph in decent weather

I also have to say that Jayson was great. He answered everyone of my questions clearly and quickly, no matter how trivial.

Ram Air Tony says:

Additional comments :

The MTI stage II LS6 heads and hammer cam with SHORTY headers and CATS and put out 427 rwhp and 395 rwtq....idle at 900 and runs like a raped ape .... not a problem one.

Like Nike says..."JUST DO IT"

Comments : The cam idles very well, I am very pleased with the Hammer cam. My car idles very well at 850 rpm without even drilling the TB or custom programming. It does not shake around at all or stall. It will surge a little when cold, but not when warm.

It does set random missfire codes intermittently, but runs very well even with ported maf and stock 3.42 gears.
