Just trying to confirm the "stock bore" for the 5.3L motor that is used in the P/U's. Also stock rod length as well.
I apparently spent to much time with the 5.7 that I never really kept up on the little brother motor!!

yep, a 3.9" bore is safe on the 5.3L block (according to nick agostino) here is what he said in a thread that went through about a week ago.

We have sonic tested many and this about where you want to be bore wise. The cheapest combo is a 6.0 crank with 5.7 rods and pistons to make a 5.7. Call Barry or Wade at the shop and they prob. have some stuff around for a good price. The max stroke you can go is 4.125 which will yield 396 inches with the 3.905 bore. Hope this helps.

So, bore it and your expenses include the machine work and pistons/rings.

yep, thats what i was thinking too
i believe it was the 99 and MAYBE the 2000 6.0L cranks that were a different part number from the ls1 cranks, but other than that yes.
