Default Differences Between Same Displacements

What would be the main differences between these two displacements:

1) 414 CID = 4.00" Bore x 4.125" Stroke

2) 414 CID = 4.06" Bore x 4.000" Stroke

I would assume that 1) would produce more low end torque and would not rev as high and that 2) would rev higher producing more horsepower, but would have less low end torque. I say this because 2) would have a smaller rotating diameter, thus allowing it to spin faster. Also because of the smaller diameter and shorter rods, it would produce less force on the down stroke producing less torque. I assume this is correct.... if so, how much more torque would 1) make over 2) and how much more horsepower would 2) make over 1)?

Other than the two about points, are there any other differences?

Default Re: Differences Between Same Displacements

Since the motors are the same displacement, and the bore/stroke ratios are not extremely different, I'd say it is almost negligible when comparing HP vs TQ on each setup. For example, my previous all-bore 382ci (4.10 bore, 3.62 stroke) made more HP and TQ than most "stroker" 382ci (3.90 bore, 4.00" stroke) setups. The "more stroke makes more torque" idea didn't pan out on my motor, I pulled 455 rwhp 442 ft-lbs with a small 221/221 camshaft.

Personally, I'd always recommend the square (bore=stroke) or oversquare setup (more bore than stroke).
