Default Did I screw up?

I had to replace my timing cover seal. The a/c belt jumped and got wrapped up behind the pulley and tore it up. Put the new seal in and painted my timing cover while I had it off. Replaced the timing cover gasket and put two little glops of rtv high temp sealant in the corners of the block. Then I torqued down the timing cover and then put the pulley on. I didn't realize until just this morning that I was supposed to leave it loose until after the pulley was put on. Will this hurt anything? Or should I be okay? I actually did this during the motor swap and didn't have any problems. I just want some reassurance!

Unless you just caught the seal at a bad angle and pinched/crimped it, I highly doubt you damaged it.

I'd just keep an eye on it over the next few miles to check for leaks. Should be good to go though...
