I have on order the TR 220/220 112 LSA cam. All this LSA talk has me thinking that maybe I should have got the 114 LSA. The 114 would idle better and sounds like it has more area under the curve from 1700-5800. Would I really be giving up anything if I went with 114 LSA?
Maybe I could go to the TR 224/224 114. Will the car run without programming? How much would milage suffer after programming?

It would run fine without programming if you have an M6, but the check engine light probably will get a little annoying. It also may have a tedancy to stall early in the morning, when cold, when trying to maneuver around a parking lot.
If you like that race-car sound and dont mind a little shake, the 112 seems to always suit my Camaro just fine. I/ve found the 112s to make great torque below 4000 that the 114s just caaaant quite totally match.
The 114 is sort of the Corvette/A4 side of things (to me). Doesnt make the under 1000 rpm drivability muuuch worse, and makes some great singing powah above 5000.
If you have valve springs in, and youve already got the cam, try it and see how you like it. I loved my 222/222 112 hammer cam from MTI. You can always change out the cam moderately easily if you have all the tools, garage, and patience.
(or you can pay to have it swapped)...

Please read JWRENCH's post Camshaft LSA explained and tested. In my view, compared to cam you have ordered, 220 duration with 114 LSA will have very similar power from 1500 to 6500, but slightly less peak torque, coming on at a slightly higher RPM. Gains from 114 LSA will come beyond 6500 RPM and will not be very significant or useful. However, if you have an A4 and are concerned with rougher idle, get the 114 LSA. The 224 duration cam will move your whole powerband higher. Again, my $.02.

Oh well I'm sure once I get the cam installed I'll be pretty happy with it

Those with the A4 and 112 LSA, how often do you throw SES lights? I about to have the G5 put next week, and the way texas emssions are now is that if your not throwing any codes, you'll pass. Im getting PCM tuning so hopefully that might prevent it, just wondering.

Yeah Larry I would just go with what you've got. We we were just saying that well after the power starts to drop off somewhere near outer space the 114 would have like maybe 3-4 more hp. I think you'll be very happy cause at 5500 or so you should have a higher peak hp than the 114. I sure wouldn't go to the trouble of reordering because of it.
