Default Low Dyno

I put in the thunder 224/224 112 cam in my 2000 ss in june. I dynoed before the cam and put down 350 rwhp and 360 torque. Since then I have added the cam, an ls6 intake and 3.73 gears and custom tuning at thunder( I put down 372rwhp there and only added the intake since then, but I didnt get a tq number because they were using wideband o2), yesterday at the same dyno in similar conditions I put down 384 rwhp and only 344 torque. I just cant figure out why my tq is so low. I tried capping my cut out and that made no difference either. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you ataped it to see if you are getting any knock retard? Also look at the LTRIMS, the timing, WOT, etc. Its more than likely a tuning issue.

Where do you live?

384 hp with only a cam sounds pretty good to me. You even have 3.73s which will cost you some power compared to a 3.42 car. Toss some race gas in there and take it back to the dyno...if your numbers go up you had some knock retard. That or borrow Autotap.

how is your clutch doing? still stock? it could be slipping, giving you a low TQ reading.

John – 34hp is a good gain for just a cam and intake. I agree the tq seems a little low. Can you post the graph of the dyno run?
Just give me a call and we can Autotap your car.

John

From what I hear we are all getting caught up in what the dyno says.. Drop 300 to 400lbs and take her to the track..
