humm... how to do this ?
hey need some help i have a 98 ss stock enging. i want to run the thunder racing 230/224 lsa111 . my question is will i have any piston to valve problems and will i be able to spray a 100 shot of "magic laughing gas". also can this be done in a m6 car with out computer modifcations (can not afford till down the road). does this cam increase the chances of the valves hitting the pistons? thank you all for the help...

Just my worthless opinion, but that is too much cam for a bone stock LS1 with no other mods.
My guess, you will have idle problems with no computor tuning, and you will loose alot of low rpm throttle response which will get real old after a period of time.
Why not a TR-220 on a 114 LSA?
Bigger is not always better on a bone stock LS1

I agree thats big for stock motor. But no it will not hit pistons 560ish lift right? + gas tend to like the reverse spilt cams = longer exhaust duration. The 230/224 is a great cam but is meant to be installed in an engine that can utilize the massive increase in airflow=Intake,HEADS & headers. It will pick up power but it can always be more!
i tend to disagree, this may not be the opimal cam for you, BUT, its been proven to WELL on stock heads you wont have idle problem tha any other "large cam" might have ( just TB hole drill and idle set screw) i spay on this cam and i think a few others on here do as well..P/V clearance will be fine on nonmilled heads. as for milling, im still looking for the answer to that myself....but its allways better to check for yourself,, i like that cam but im bias
Hey, I have the same cam and a 1/4 inch hole in the TB and it idles almost perfectly. Stock tuning also. Very good cam and there is no problem with p/v clearance.
