Default Rebuilding bottom end.. few questions

Ok... I doubt I'll have enough cash this winter... but just in case...

If I wanted to rebuild my bottom end myself, what are the steps I'd need to take?

Parts:
Crank
Rods
Rod Bolts
Pistons
Piston Rings

The main bearings... are those part of the crank? anyone have a pic of what they look like (i've never seen the bottom end of a motor apart... but think between myself and my dad (he's an auto mechanic and has rebuilt many triumph, MG, Jaguar, Peugeot engines in his life) we can do it).

If I just want to stroke the motor it's just a matter of the crank right?

Do I need any machine work done to the block?

Thanks
Mike

I have heard that a larger crank needs a small part of the block chopped out. Saw a picture of it but im not sure it that was for the 382 or larger. If you have all winter you can pretty much see what you need as you go along. Seems like you have named all the parts you need. Gaskets would be another big one. Oil pump probably since you are ripping it all apart. I am not sure if we are forgetting anything but the lunati stroker kit comes with pretty much most of it. And then just the basic motor install parts.
