Advice that I used to get a lot is to find locally cammed cars similar to what you want, take a look at 'em, get a ride in the car, etc... take note of their road manners and whatnot. Doesn't work for me because around here there is only one cammed f-body that I know of so I kinda have to wing it.

I am one of maybe 10 f-bodys up here in Erie, and of those 10 including me 3or4 are modded. LOL Good ole Erie. But that makes sense. Im really going to research this. The only thing that sucks is the tune after the cam. The car came LS1 Edited. ??who knows for sure. Gotta run for tonight. Thanks again for the help Lastcall

I just got the whole package from Thunder Racing (cam, pushrods, and retainers) Pretty good deal if you ask me.

I went with the TR 224/224 114LSA. car has a little lope but nothing that will be obnoxious in traffic. I put down 388rwhp and 385 tq on basic bolt-ons (LT's, ORY, Hooker and Lid) I have a 01 TA M6 BTW.

Once my car was tuned by Redline here in the STL, the car is a JOY to drive. Great manners around town, almost just like having my loudmouth.

As far as low-end torque goes...I have 325 lb. ft. at 2500 rpm. Do you need any more than that driving around town? I know I don't. This cam is a proven performer on the street and at the track, which is why I choose this setup...I want to leave the TA at home everyday to save miles on it, but I can't seem to leave it in the garage b/c its so much fun now!!!

The LS2 chain is stronger than the LS1..I would atleast get a new OEM oil pump, it's pretty cheap insurance. The TR230 would definatly not be over kill, I have a buddy down here with this cam in his Z28, it sounds mean, and has a great powerband. He puts down just over 400RWHP with ported 241's.

You will need to buy springs also... so unless you buy used it will be more than $400. I just started tearing into my car, installing a torquer v2 with stock heads. That right rear coil bolt was a PITA!

I did my cam swap working on-and-off over 3 days while putting a lift kit on a dakota...Having the right tools makes those hard to reach places much easier, but I still thought getting the crank pulley on and off was the toughest part, that and turning the key.

I see that you are going to get this by looking in your sig. Didnt look at this one yet. But I am really leaning on the TR230. Ive been looking at dyno ratings, and Ive got the Cam woody.
