? for cam experts about advance I'm getting ready to install a Comp Cams 218/224 114 LSA cam in my '99 SS, using the Comp Cams timing chain and variable gearset. The cam is ground w/ 4 degrees of advance built in.
My question is whether it's feasible to advance this cam even more. My car is a daily driver, and I only go to the track once or twice a year. I have talked to the tech support line at Comp Cams, and they were very non-commital about it, & refused to predict any results.
This board has some real cam gurus --- so what's the scoop?

Re: ? for cam experts about advance Advancing the cam shifts the torque curve down. Retarding the cam shifts it back up. I your cam was not ground with 4 degrees intake advance, you would probably make peak power around 7500 rpm.
