Default Damn surging!!

well i had my cam put in about 5 weeks ago,and on start up it will go up and down a few rpms, once in reverse its starts to surge a little(back and forth)and it does it in drive when im not on the gas.Everything is fine once im driving, but continues once i come to a stop. Now this is the weird part.. as soon as i get on it hard,it goes away and drives and idles fine...wtf.I had a ported TB put on the same time as the cam, could it be the TB that is causing the problem or is this definitly a tuning issue...all help is greatly appreciated.

I used to have the same problem, as you are describing. I just adjusted the idle screw up some. about 15 degrees at a time. Cured mine.

You need to pull some fuel and add some spark in those areas of the fuel and spark tables. That will help your surging out.

The surging should be pretty easy to fix. Your cam is not very big from an overlap standpoint. Good luck.

Years ago I had that same problem. Everyone kept telling me it was the tuning (which I really did have a bad tune), but as soon as I went back to a stock tb from a ported tb, it cured 80% of the surging and drivability problems. Then, I got a good tune and that got the drivability back to about 99%.
