What heads are they using to get the extra 45 Hp over the standard 6.0 in the pickups? Or is it just other changes such as cam, ect...

Same 6.0L heads the other engines share. The HP rating is most likely advertising propoganda, just like the C5 vs the F-body.
Cadillac owners can't handle having the same rated HP as an HD Pickup <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

LQ9 6.0L engine: Was Escalade only. Going to another model soon.
345 hp @5200
380 lb-ft @4000
10.0:1 CR
LQ4 6.0L engines; various models (2001 usage shown)
325 hp @5000; 370 lb-ft @ 4000 used on Sierra C3
320 hp @5000; 365 lb-ft @ 4000 Denali
320 hp @5000; 360 lb-ft @ 4000 Suburbans
300 hp @4400; 360 lb-ft @ 4000 2500HD and 3500 p/u and Chassis Cab and heavy gross weight p/u or crew cab
9.4:1 CR
Probably just inlet and exhaust system differences and perhaps computer tuning on LQ4.
Generally if internal parts are different, the designator (LQ9, LQ6, etc. will change). The extra CR (and maybe 91 octane) gets the extra 20 hp and 10 lb-ft on the LQ9 over the equivalent LQ4 installation
