Default 382 Stroker questions...

Do you have to bore out the block or does someone make a kit that doesn't require the block to be bored?

Would it be better to bore the block out if I have the option not to? why would it be better?

If someone makes a kit that doesn't require the block to be bored can you point me in their direction?

Thanks.

for a 382 stroke no boring is required you can just buy the stroker kit from one of the sponsors like www.racenet.net or some of the other ones.

A .003" clean-up hone is needed to fit the pistons that come with the 4.00" stroker Lunati kit.

Chris at SpeedDemonMotorsports is running a GP right now for the Lunati kit (regulat about $4000, the GP has it for $3350).

They also mentioned that the kit comes in two "flavors" right now, but soon to only be one. Here is a quote from Chris in the GP section:

quote:
Actually, right now the kits come one of two ways(soon to only be the second of the two)
They either come 3.898, for the stock bore, no maachining required. and then a 3.903".

So, I'm guessing you can get the 3.898" pistons if you don't get the clean-up hone? But, if you have any kind of miles on it, you are probably better getting the 0.003" clean-up hone and going with the 3.903" pistons.

Can someone confirm?
