Default Cam in a GTO

I'm considering putting in a big cam in my GTO. I was thinking the "S" cam kit from HPE. Instal that with a set of Kooks headers and a good dyno tune. I was thinking 400wrhp on a set of drag radials. Will this cam be too much for a daily driver? I want something very aggressive but no surging. I want to be able to use every gear comfortably. A know a double roller timing chain is better but can I still shift at 6800 with the stock 15,000 mile origional timing chain?

tons of people running the S cam on a daily, should be fine if you got a good tuner

do you think i would work well with the stock 3.46 gears? I dont want it to feel doggy below 3000 .
