6.0liter swap
Will a 6.0 liter motor swap out with my motor('02 SS) And is it worth it if I can get ahold of the motor, I am trying to stay mild but yet increase power. Any suggestions will help.

Re: 6.0liter swap
I see you say the 2002 can use a 6.0 with no problems. I have a 2000 SS I want to swap for a 6.0. Do i need to get a certain year 6.0 or will any work for my car? Do you still run the stock computer, or do you need special tuning?

you will want a 2001 or newer 6.0, that is when they started puting on the good aluminum heads, most 6.0 only have 9.4-1 compresion so you would need to address that or look for an esclade motor with the 10-1 compresion and just drop it right in.
the newer 6.0's also have a prety big cam for a factory cam(seems big to me), 198/208, .500/.500 115.5,
there was something diferent about the 99 and maybe the 00 6.0's something about crank flange thinkness, not sure but i know the 01 and newer will go right in.

Re: 6.0liter swap
if i loose compression going from my ls1 to a 6.0 l is it worth it, will i gain power. keep in mind the motor will be on gas(N20) and i will try and get heads worked an milled, plus a small casual street cam of some type...one that likes the nitrous.
