Default LS1 PISTONS.......LOOK INSIDE

Here is what we have on the shelf as of right now. This list is still growing and we will be adding some 4.000 - 4.060 pistons for the 6.0 liter iron block guy's. If we do not have a piston that you need please let me know. We can do a custom for you or if there is enuff interest we can add it to stocking P/N's. Call or email me with any questions.

Thanks,

D@mn, those are great prices. What would a set of 3.91 x 4.00 x 6.125 with +4cc dome nitrous pistons run?

Reckless - That is a direct replacement for the stock rods. The rings are file fit and they cost $199.00 for a set. They are our PRO SELECT ring sets. Top ring is plasma moly and the 2nd is cast iron with a low tension oil ring.

Ls1290 - The dome pistons are going to be a custom for right now. That would run you $630.00 for a set. Wrist pins are also extra on the customs.

Thanks Chris....next question...is the -2cc valve reliefs, or a small dish? How does this affect over all CR?

Reckless - The -2cc is valve relief. This lowers compression but only by a little. You would go say from 10.5 to like 10.3:1 compression ratio. The valve reliefs allow you to install pretty large cams with worry of piston to valve clearance.

Thanks,
Chris

Keep in mind that this is totally hypothetical. If I was looking to build a nitrous engine with a setup like p.n. 11500 but wanted the pistons designed with nitrous use in mind, what would the cost be and how would the ring lands be setup?

If not, the piston will stick further out of the bore.

Yeah Chris, that Jason is a fart smeller....er....I mean a smart feller

All seriousness aside, thanks for the info. The iron block setup is a bunch cheaper than the sleeved aluminum route, but is still ain't cheap enough for my current finances.

I'll most likely just do a stock C.I. rebuild with decent rods and pistons and use the bottle for the big hp until I save up the needed small fortune for big N/A power.

What piston would be good if I was stock CI and wanted to run 10+ pounds of boost?

Same question if I had a 382 Stroker(Lunati)?

Thanks

TrevorD - How much nitrous?? Those pistons will be fine up to 150hp shot. If you were going to run more than that like around 200-300hp, I would lower the ring lands a little bit. If you wanted this done we would charge you an extra $30.00 for the set, so $600.00.

ScottyG - "C/D" is compression distance. Jason99T/A described it well.

CamaroSS_2002 - Anyone of our pistons would be fine. They will all handle 10psi. If you wanted to be safe and lower your compression ratio a bit I would use our blower/turbo piston #11503. This is good up around 20psi. Also our stroker piston is #11504.

Thanks guy's,
Chris Gelineau

Just wanted to say I have Diamond pistons/rings in my current LT1 blower motor and my previous N/A 383 and they are a very high quality product.

Chris,
Are low tension oil rings prudent in a street engine? I've seen some of the 3mm low tension oil rings used in some Ford products and they don't seem to be the way to go, especially for N2O engines. With the problem of smoking LS1's I would think that standard tension would be the way to go but I've been told there is no such ring in a 3mm oil ring? Just curious.

Yeah I wouldn't be looking at low tensions on a NO2 engine, but if you have a low pressure or vaccum crankcase that's not that bad. As long as the rings are wide enough.

Hey Chris, I was about to order JE nitrous pistons but I won a $100 gift certificate for your pistons and I have not heard any bad comments yet. I would like to ask you if your pistons are stonger and why? Hope you dont mind me asking this but I will be needing a custom piston capable of useing a 300shot of nitous on a motor that will already be putting out 400+hp to the rear wheels. Also how much will this cost minus my certificate?
