Need fuel system/setup tips
I need some help figuring out what to do with my fuel system and my pcm, if Im going to a 382 bore setup, expecting maybe 460rwhp range. Car has stock 26# injectors and stock fuel pump(2000). Id rather be safe than sorry, but if I dont need this stuff then ill skip it.
Thinking about 30# lucas-style injectors (too small?), and maybe a walpro or katech fuel pump...any thoughts? Also a good vendor who has these items?
Im a bit worried too because I have an Ed wright PCM, and its locked against LS1 edit, so does the pcm need to be adjusted for these changes, and if so do I keep doing ed wright or try and get it flashed for LS1 edit tune? Suggestions on best way to handle this?
Insight from similar experiences or setups appreciated...
Erik

depending on how long you've had your fastchip tuning, it may or may not be locked.
either way, ken can get you a file you can program over top of ed's file to make it all go away.
if you just go 30's maybe 36's you can get it ballpark with a maf translator but edit would defintely be better since you may want timing adjustment for the new motor.
since 36's cost the same as 30's basically i would get those (svo) and a walbro 340 intank pump and hook it up yourself, fairly easy.. and save a hundred bux or so from what racetronix sells.

Pick up the Plug and Play ARE 340 walbro intank pump. 30# injectors will be fine on a 460RWHP 382. Also get your PCM reflashed and tune it on the dyno with LS1 edit and wideband.
Good luck,
Chris
ps- If you are planning on spraying I would go bigger on the injectors. If all motor, 30# SVO's will be fine. (actually 36#'ers at Ls1 FP)
What vendor are you going with on the 382?

Re: Need fuel system/setup tips
Its going to be JPR's 382. I dont plan on spraying it anytime soon (hopefully never if I can maintain my senses), but there is always a chance that down the line I could decide that I need to go faster and dump a mid sized shot into it. Stick with 30#?
Whats the easiest way to get the PCM reflashed?

Re: Need fuel system/setup tips
24# SVO injectors in our LS1 engines (having 58psi fuel pressure) will flow 29.25#/hr. This should be plenty for your 382.
BUT like the other gentleman said, if you are going to use nitrous or add a supercharger, you will need bigger fuel injectors.
