Warranty Head , Cam and Piston replacement
Could a warranty Head, Cam and Piston replacement cause major power increase?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The guy i got my car from said that the car had a warranty head, cam and piston replacement at about 1600 miles. he showed me paper work showing it was done by a GM dealer. Anyways when i got it i put a few mods on it and its feels really good. but even before i did anything to it, she felt very strong. and this is my 4th LS1 so i know what they feel like out of the box. not to tell a kill story but tonight i raced a 00 TA M6 with cat back, ported LS6 intake manifold, B&M short shifter and slp air lid. I KILLED HIM by over 3 car lengths AND i fcuked up one of my shifts. Anyone have any ideas?

Depending on when the work was done it may have gotten LS6 heads because they stopped making LS1 heads when they stopped making LS1s. Check the casting numbers on the head 241 is an LS1, 243 is LS6/2.

you just might have a strong runner. Even if you did get the ls6 241 heads, its only going to be about a 10-15hp difference between the original ls1 heads. Plus you have Lt's and the other guy didnt.
usually at a dealership if they are going to replace the heads, cam, and pistons they will just go ahead and drop a new motor in it.
first look on the end of the passenger side cylinder head and see what number it says 241=LS1 & 243=LS6
