If you are talking about Lingenfelters head/cam packages, they are ok. As far as power goes they are far below other tuner shops such as : mti, are, cartek, GTP....ect.. LPE does give excellant drivablilty(very mild mannered cams and such) and I also believe their packages will pass 50 state emissions testing. In my opinion you are really just paying for the name, kind of like GTPs heads. They are good quality, no doubt but VERY much over priced.

Lingenfelter's pacakges are first rate, but you have to understand a lot of his business is from folks who want a turn key pkg with no issues. All of his cams are much milder than most other shops. His stuff will also pass emissions. And, you do pay a premium for his work. But, his stuff is always right to.

I have seen his package with the addition of macs dyno 40x RWHP

True, you pay for a name when it comes to installation, but they aren't as 'overpriced' when comparing with GTP, MTI, etc for just parts. They are actually relatively close. No, their cams don't appeal to the masses as with some of the high lift, lumpy LSA cams, that really don't make power until well out realistic driving patterns. That isn't their 'target' crowd anyway. They are simply providing a solid, reliable combination that makes respectable power - AND they offer a warranty! But don't be fooled by 'low' RWHP #'s. As many of you know, it's the power under the curve that counts, right?

Can't help to be a little bias, after researching a H/C install package from various shops over the past year, all of MY requirements always ended up back to LPE - I pick my SS up from Decatur next weekend .

Hey 02-WS6, if you want any info on them, feel free to email me and I'll do what I can to answer some of your questions.

SnakeSknr,

Is it true LPE will only do a heads and cam install on a car with less than 20,000 miles on it?

Hmmmm, not sure about that. My '01 only has 8000 on it, so the subject never came up. When I was at the shop I really didn't see anything older than an '01... . I could ask on Monday after getting my dyno report and let you know.
