I'm still not sure I understand the definition of "seat", when talking about seating the rings. No matter how you drive the car for break-in, at some point all the hatch markings will be worn down and the cylinder walls will be smooth. The rings will push against the cylinder walls with the same pressure if you wear them off quick or over 50 miles of driving. Where does the ring "seat"? It doesn't move anywhere, the ring just sits there and pushes outward.

My motor is pretty new with about 3200 miles on it. I am a firm believer in running the **** out of a new motor. Thats what I have always done. When someone goes and buys a new car they dont tell you to break it in.
