Kinda funny you mention this Chris. 440 rwhp 346 LS1's are merely a myth here in Georgia. There have been 100's of heads/cam LS1's to roll out of our shops with MTI/Thunder/Cartek/etc parts, and we haven't seen one yet make even close to 440. Cars make good power in GA, but not like the magical #'s you see posted on here.

FWIW, we had a car come from a VERY well known shop(won't disclose who), and made 55 rwhp less than what it made at their shop with no other changes. Things that make ya go hmmmmm

Who cares?...lol. Let's go to the track and race. Then we can compare these dyno queens. Hell, my 2 year old heads and cam setup made 414 rwhp and ran 123+ mph at 3500 lbs and an A3. There are dyno queens here with said 440+ rwhp not running those trap speeds. My current set up runs 486 rwhp on the dyno and runs 135+ traps. A dyno is a tuning tool period.

Mikey

Mike hit the nail on the head. My car dynoed a measly 305/318 as a baseline (Dynoyet SAE Corrected). Yet I can pull a half a car 0-110 on a mustang that consistently runs 12.6s. Dynos are not a good tool for benchracing.

Nobody has brought up dyno brands yet! In the Detroit area, ther is a good mix of Mustang and Dynojet dynos. The rule of thumb is, you get on a Dynojet for bragging rights, and a Mustang to tune. My car only made 303 baseline on a Mustang, but with the blower I made 391 on a Dynojet (I had a free pull, and needed a gutcheck). Now, I am not nieve enough to think that my 6psi powerdyne made 88 HP at the wheels, but it sure looks good in the sig!

my original post wasnt meant to say one dyno was wrong and one was right.i was just saying you cant compare unless on the same dyno.

1985z51 had a good point the houston performance dyno strapped the car down VERY tight,i wondered why in the world they were doing that at first and they also didnt seem to make every pull at a certain starting point they seemed to almost bog it.

like i said in my post i will always try and use mti because of the repeatability.i just want to see gains not compare to others
