Gasket Madness
I noticed that Scoggins Dickey has head gaskets and LS1 head bolts for $68.00:
1- P/N 12498543 $34.15 (LS1 Head Gaskets- pair)
2- P/N 12498545 $16.95 (LS1 Head Bolts- 2 pair)
Add the Air (.86c x 2) and EGR ($4.26) and the total comes out to approx. $80.00 with shipping.
Then.. if you check with some other sponsors, thier price is anywhere from $220.00 up to $269.00 range.
Are the Scoggins-Dickey gaskets the same quality and parts that are included in the other sponsors gasket kits?
Are the "Intake Manifold" gaskets necessary, as the intake seems to have the rubber gasket as part of the intake? Are there any other gaskets/seals needed for strictly a head swap?
Any opinions welcome..

Re: Gasket Madness
Smokin, No, those other packages dont usually use ARP head studs. AND btw, stock doesnt have head studs, stock are bolts.
Mrb, SDPC sells the OEM GM stuff, Its perfectly fine. All the parts you listed for $80 are all you need for a head swap. If swapping the cam too, get 2 water pump gaskets (just incase your stock ones are old or have gone bad) and a front cover seal. Should be another $12 or so total for those 3 items. You dont need intake manifold gaskets.

As a matter of fact, I'll be using your directions.. as I used for the LS6 manifold. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
