hey guys well i have the 224 224 112 lsa cam with gtp stage 2 heads i changed to a non synthetic oil today and after 10 minutes the car has a ticking sound between 2300-3800 rpms yes i know it is supposed to chatter like hell with the cam but this is diffrent pulled valve covers no promlems there.Car runs great up to redline

it's definitely from the engine? I noticed my valvetrain "ticked" much more after the cam install simply because of the greater valve spring pressure. To have this only at a certain band in the rpm range is interesting to me though. Honestly, I couldn't think of anything that has this quality that goes away after 3800rpms - maybe it is just the harmonics of whatever is ticking to quit vibrating at a certain speed...?

I had a similar problem when I changed to a higher viscosity oil. When I changed back to the 10W30 the ticking went away. The dino oil you switched to may have a slightly higher viscosity. Jimmy
