Default What cam for cam only?

01 WS6 M6

Current mods in sig.

What's the biggest cam I can use with my stock heads and still have decent driveability?

I'll be getting heads in the future, just don't have the funds at the moment.

I'd get a set of pacesetter LT headers first. Then, a 228/232 110+4 or 230/230 .612/.604 110+4 cam. You will also need valve springs. A good idea to upgrade timing chain and oil pump while you are there. Plan on about $1600 in parts for all of the parts. Then you will need a tune. If you don't want headers, then there are small cams out there (duration) to use with stock manifolds.

since its an m6 you can get away with a bigger cam.

i say something in the area of the TSP torquer, futral F13 ro 14 would do you good.

cam only with bolt ons you should be in the 400-410rwhp range easily...and with decent heads you'll be easily in the 430-450rwhp range.

as for driveability...its all in the tune

Have PatrickG spec you a cam to your motor. Im sure you'll be happy and it will be killer on the street with a nice lope.

What are your goals for the car? I'd suggest reading the tread "Do shops market small cams any more? Why Not?"

Unless you spend a lot of time at the dragstrip, are going to get an indestructible rear and clutch, then you don't NEED and huge cam. You can still make good power up top for cheap with a well designed custom cam, Patrick G is a great choice for a custom cam designer.

Good Luck
