Default Cam on new engine?

On a brand new LS1 engine, would it be smart to break in the engine first before putting in a '01 LS6 cam and putting on mac headers? I was thinking maybe you want the engine to mesh with what you will be running? If I should break in the engine, how many miles should I put on first?

It does not matter. I have less than 9k miles on my car and I wish I would have started sooner.

Breaking in your motor with an LS6 cam would be just breaking in an LS6 motor. No difference. That cam isnt big enough to worry about, just treat the motor with normal break in procedures and you'll be fine....

I figured it would be best to put it in very soon so the engine can mesh with that cam

My Camaro has 920 miles on it and I will be installing a cam in a day or two (waiting on parts). Doesnt matter one bit.
