? about 98 crank

? about 98 crank

I have a 98 shortblock that the crank is bad in. Do i have to put a 98 crank back in it? I heard somewhere i can put another year crank in it and just change the crank position sensor? Or is it more involved than that?

The crank is the same. New bearings and bolts. It's a good time to upgrade anything else since you are already gonna be in there.
